Hi, I’m Katia. I’m a PACFA-certified counsellor and Gestalt therapist who believes therapy should feel human, not cold or clinical. I offer a warm, collaborative space where you can explore your experiences while being met with curiosity, support, and genuine connection.
I work with individuals and couples, offering in-person and online therapy through a neuroaffirming, relational approach.
Originally from Russia and now living in the Northern Rivers, I bring a deep appreciation for the experiences of identity, belonging, and navigating life between cultures. My own journey across cultures has shaped the way I understand the importance of feeling seen, understood, and connected.
I support individuals and couples navigating relationship difficulties, anxiety, chronic stress, life transitions, and challenges related to addiction and compulsive behaviours. I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent adults, including autistic adults and adults with ADHD.
I understand the unique strengths and challenges that can arise when navigating relationships, work, and everyday life in a world that is not designed with neurodivergent people in mind.
Relational Home is grounded in the belief that therapy can be a process of coming home to yourself — to your emotions, your relationships, your body, and your sense of who you are.

How it works
Initial Session:
Our first session is an opportunity to get a fuller picture of what brings you to therapy and what you would like support with. For individuals, we’ll explore what is happening in your life now, relevant history, relationships, strengths and current challenges. For couples, the initial sessions include a more structured assessment of your relationship, your concerns and what each of you hopes might change. Read more about how I work with couples here.
You don’t need to know exactly what to say or where to begin. I’ll ask questions and help guide the conversation, and you are always welcome to ask questions about me or how I work.
Following Sessions:
Therapy develops from what matters to you. We might talk, slow something down, notice patterns, explore emotions or relationships, work with what is coming up during the sessions, or find practical ways of approaching something differently.
I don’t expect everyone to process experience in the same way. You might understand yourself through feelings, thoughts, sensations, movement, patterns, logic, humour, images or something else entirely. There is no particular way you need to “do therapy” here.
As Our Work Develops:
Change does not have to mean becoming someone different. Sometimes it is about having more choice, greater flexibility, stronger relationships, or more capacity to live in ways that feel true to who you are.
We work towards what matters to you, at a pace that feels meaningful and sustainable, allowing the direction of therapy to develop as you do.

I live and work on Bundjalung Country, on unceded land. I acknowledge the Bundjalung people as the Traditional Custodians and honour their living connection to land, waters, and community. I recognise that colonisation is ongoing and continues to shape the field we all live within.
