Hi, I’m Katia. I’m a PACFA-certified counsellor and Gestalt therapist who believes therapy should feel human, not cold or clinical. I offer a warm, collaborative space where you can explore your experiences while being met with curiosity, support, and genuine connection.

I work with individuals and couples, offering in-person and online therapy through a neuroaffirming, relational approach.

Originally from Russia and now living in the Northern Rivers, I bring a deep appreciation for the experiences of identity, belonging, and navigating life between cultures. My own journey across cultures has shaped the way I understand the importance of feeling seen, understood, and connected.

I support individuals and couples navigating relationship difficulties, anxiety, chronic stress, life transitions, and challenges related to addiction and compulsive behaviours. I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent adults, including autistic adults and adults with ADHD.

I understand the unique strengths and challenges that can arise when navigating relationships, work, and everyday life in a world that is often not designed with neurodivergent people in mind.

Relational Home is grounded in the belief that therapy can be a process of coming home to yourself — to your emotions, your relationships, your body, and your sense of who you are.

I support individuals and couples as they navigate:

  • Negative cycles and relationship difficulties

  • Attachment and relationship anxiety

  • Individual

Each session provides a confidential and supportive space where you can gently be present with your feelings, thoughts, and relationships as they unfold within the broader context of your life. In Gestalt therapy, the concept of “field” refers to the whole situation around you including your environment, relationships, and experiences that influence how you feel and respond. Together, we explore the patterns within this field and move forward at a pace that feels right for you, supporting greater understanding, self-awareness, and meaningful change.

  • Couples

In couples therapy, I help partners build a deeper connection through honest listening and genuine understanding. I blend Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps couples recognise and change negative interaction patterns by addressing attachment needs and fostering emotional safety, with Terry Real’s approach that encourages honest communication and balanced, respectful partnerships. Together, we create a path toward meaningful growth that supports a healthier, more connected relationship.

How it works

Initial Session:

In Gestalt terms, this is the pre-contact phase, a time to get a sense of one another and establish common ground. In our initial session, we explore what brings you here and begin to build a foundation of safety, curiosity, and mutual understanding.

Following sessions:

In a supportive space, we attend to your lived experience in the here and now. Together, we bring awareness to how you relate to yourself and others, noticing patterns, emotions, and contact styles as they emerge. This awareness invites insight and creates space for new possibilities.

Authentic Change:

Through a relational and experiential process, the sessions support your ability to connect more fully with your experience. You bring your own resources and strengths, including your body, your voice, your relationships, and your needs. From this place, meaningful and embodied change can emerge naturally over time.

I live and work on Bundjalung Country, on unceded land. I acknowledge the Bundjalung people as the Traditional Custodians and honour their living connection to land, waters, and community. I recognise that colonisation is ongoing and continues to shape the field we all move within.
