Relational psychotherapy that meets you where you are

What is present for you right now?

You might be carrying stress, pain, or emotional weight that feels heavy. Relationships may feel strained, and life changes overwhelming. Familiar patterns that once made sense may now feel like barriers. You long to be truly seen, heard, and supported. What if there is a different way forward? Gestalt Therapy offers a chance to pause, slow down, and explore your experience without pressure to fix anything immediately. You don’t have to stay caught in confusion or disconnection.

Together, we can uncover new ways to connect and support yourself at your own pace.

Each session is your appointment with yourself—an opportunity to find clarity and ease.

I’m Katia, a PACFA-registered psychotherapist with a master’s degree in Gestalt Therapy. I work with individuals, couples/relationships, and families, both online and in person in the Northern Rivers.

My neuroaffirming, relational approach is grounded in Gestalt principles, valuing authenticity, presence, and deep listening. I also practice with an awareness of how broader systems like culture, identity, and power can shape our experiences. I aim to create a space that honours your lived experience, values difference, and supports your agency within the broader field of your life.

These are among the primary issues I support clients with in therapy:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Depression, emotional distress, and experiences of isolation

  • Grief, loss, and significant life transitions

  • cPTSD, trauma recovery and intergenerational trauma

  • Evidence-based interventions for relationships, couples, and family dynamics

  • Parenting challenges, family conflicts, separation & divorce

  • Relational trauma in high-conflict dynamics

  • Identity exploration across gender, sexuality, culture, and personal growth

  • Neurodivergent support (Autism, ADHD, HSP)

  • Self-worth, self-criticism and perfectionism

  • Anger and unprocessed emotions

  • Individual

Each session provides a confidential and supportive space where you can gently be present with your feelings, thoughts, and relationships as they unfold within the broader context of your life. In Gestalt therapy, the concept of “field” refers to the whole situation around you including your environment, relationships, and experiences that influence how you feel and respond. Together, we explore the patterns within this field and move forward at a pace that feels right for you, supporting greater understanding, self-awareness, and meaningful change.

  • Couples

In couples therapy, I help partners build a deeper connection through honest listening and genuine understanding. I blend Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps couples recognise and change negative interaction patterns by addressing attachment needs and fostering emotional safety, with Terry Real’s approach that encourages honest communication and balanced, respectful partnerships. Together, we create a path toward meaningful growth that supports a healthier, more connected relationship.

How it works

Initial Session:

In Gestalt terms, this is the pre-contact phase, a time to get a sense of one another and establish common ground. In our initial session, we explore what brings you here and begin to build a foundation of safety, curiosity, and mutual understanding.

Following sessions:

In a supportive space, we attend to your lived experience in the here and now. Together, we bring awareness to how you relate to yourself and others, noticing patterns, emotions, and contact styles as they emerge. This awareness invites insight and creates space for new possibilities.

Authentic Change:

Through a relational and experiential process, the sessions support your ability to connect more fully with your experience. You bring your own resources and strengths, including your body, your voice, your relationships, and your needs. From this place, meaningful and embodied change can emerge naturally over time.
